The Executive Board is the foundation of the organization. Together, they work as a team to create, plan, and execute the great opportunities IC PRSSA has to offer.

Current Leadership

lenaLena Verga, 
Lena is a senior Communication Management and Design major with a Corporate Communications concentration from Flemington, NJ. Over the Summer, she interned with United States Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island in his Providence office. While abroad at the Ithaca College London Center, she interned at RMG PR & Events, a small travel and luxury PR firm. In her free time, Lena likes to travel, eat out, read, and spend time with her friends. On campus, you can probably find her in the pub, complaining about parking.


Tyler Bilodeau, Vice Presidenttyler
Tyler is a Junior Integrated Marketing Communications Major with a Live Event Design/Management Minor. He is originally from the small town of Camden, Maine, so he grew to love good seafood and the water! Last summer he interned at GraySquare, a sales/marketing consulting firm in Cambridge, MA. This allowed him to learn some crucial skills in sales, teamwork, public communication, and it made him appreciate how certain kinds of management can affect the morale and drive of an office. He looks forward to serving as your Vice President this year!


greyGrey LarkinTreasurer
Grey is a junior Business Administration major concentrating in Finance and minoring in Writing, Business Analytics, and is also in the Honors Program. On campus, she is the Treasurer for IC Books Thru Bars and PRSSA. She is also a member of the Business Peer Advisors and works at the Career Service Center as a Peer Career Advisor. She is from Hooksett, New Hampshire and loves being outdoors. Otherwise, she can usually be found binge reading a good book. This summer she worked at Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank but has also done a public policy internship at Clean and Healthy New York where she drafted memorandums of support for senators and assemblymen and pushed public policy bills on chemical reform in children’s products.

nehaNeha PatnaikAssistant Treasurer
Neha is a sophomore Integrated Marketing Communications major with a minor in Live Event Design and Management from Basking Ridge, NJ. She has been wanting to pursue a career in PR for a long time and is excited to be able to gain experience in the field during her time at IC. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new comedians, watching movies and finding new places to eat for her next trip to NYC.

Bianca SummervilleDirector of Communicationsbianca
Bianca is a junior Integrated Marketing Communications major and Legal Studies minor from Elmira, NY. This past summer, Bianca was the community engagement intern at the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. She helped plan and coordinate Tour de Keuka, one of the Food Bank’s two marquee events, which raised over $100,000 (the equivalent of more than 300,000 meals for the community) between sponsorships, peer-to-peer donations and corporate matches. Outside of PRSSA, Bianca is the Director of Client Services for Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations, an on-campus, student-run nonprofit consulting firm. In her spare time, she can be found at Ithaca’s best-kept secret, the Alley Cat Cafe.

grayceGrayce Smith, Director of Promotions
Grayce is an Integrated Marketing Communications major with a minor in Art. She has earned past internship experience in marketing where she has designed brochures that have been distributed globally, organized trade shows, developed a company’s social media pages, and written speeches, news releases, and company newsletters. Her other on-campus activities include the American Marketing Association, BomberTHON and being the Marketing Director of Habitat for Humanity. From a small farm town in Connecticut, Grayce has grew up loving the outdoors including kayaking, camping and petting every dog she sees. However, when indoors you can find her eating chips and salsa while watching shows like Bones and Bob’s Burgers.

lauraLaura HeppesDirector of Events
Laura is a junior Integrated Marketing Communications major with a minor in Live Event Management and Design from Middletown, New York. This past summer, she interned in the marketing department of Orange Bank & Trust Company where she wrote press releases, planned client events, and coordinated company sponsorship opportunities. Outside of PRSSA, Laura is the Executive Director of BomberTHON and Co-Captain of the Ithaca College Dance Team. In her free time, she enjoys watching Big Little Lies and eating Purity soy ice cream.


Nicholas Simeone
Co-Director of Digital Media
Nick is a sophomore Integrated Marketing and Communications major. During the summer Nick started his role as a marketing intern for a local doctor’s office. He creates promotional material including pamphlets and posts, while also running the company’s Instagram account. Being a part of Swish for Make-A-Wish last year fueled Nick’s passion for PRSSA and left him excited for the upcoming year.


Rebecca Szlajen
, Co-Director of Digital Media
Rebecca is a senior Communication Management and Design major with a concentration in Corporate Communication and a minor in Journalism from Longmeadow, MA. This past summer she interned at Cronin, an advertising agency in Connecticut whose clients include Amica and Liberty Bank. While abroad in the ICLA program last semester, Rebecca interned with Sony Pictures Television in Media and Talent Relations. Rebecca enjoys binge watching TV and reading in her free time.

Elizabeth Raiff
Elizabeth is a junior Integrated Marketing Communications major with minors in Honors and Deaf Studies from Buffalo, NY. This past summer, Elizabeth worked as a camp counselor for the Gow School. She was able to work with 100 students from all over the world with dyslexia and other learning-based disabilities. She also job shadowed at Luminus, a creative agency in Buffalo. Outside of PRSSA, she is a Leadership Scholar and enjoys participating in Service Sundays around the Ithaca Community. On the weekends, she enjoys exploring Ithaca and going to the farmers market. Since she’s from Buffalo, she’s used to the snow and already can’t wait to start skiing again!

Faculty Advisor: Arhlene Flowers

Arhlene Flowers, associate professor in Integrated Marketing Communications, has extensive public relations experience on both the agency and corporate sides. Prior to joining Ithaca College in 2006, she held management positions at leading New York City public relations agencies, including Ruder Finn and Hill and Knowlton. She has represented clients on six continents, including a wide range of governments, nonprofits, and public and private companies. She also served as corporate public relations director worldwide at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, based in its Toronto headquarters. She holds a B.A. from New York University and an M.P.S. from the New School. Her research has been published in academic journals and presented at academic conferences. Her book, Global Writing for Public Relations, was published by Routledge in 2016.
