The Executive Board is the foundation of the organization. Together, they work as a team to create, plan, and execute the great opportunities IC PRSSA has to offer.
Laura Amato, Co-President
Laura is a senior Integrated Marketing Communications major with minors in Psychology and Communication Management & Design from Syracuse, NY. This past summer, Laura interned at Carat on the Diageo account. She planned media for top alcohol brands including Guinness, Baileys, Captain Morgan, and Johnnie Walker. Outside of PRSSA, she is the VP of Marketing for Students Today Alumni Tomorrow and is a member of the Senior Class Cabinet. In her spare time, Laura enjoys traveling, bullet journaling, watching The Office, and cats.
Katie O’Hara, Co–President
Katie is a senior Integrated Marketing Communications major with a Women’s and Gender Studies minor from Westborough, MA. This past summer, she worked as a PR intern at SHIFT Communications on the consumer team. Outside of PRSSA, Katie is a Leadership Scholar and the Wardrobe Executive of HiFashion Studios. In her spare time, Katie loves working out, watching crime shows on Netflix, and testing new recipes. As a lover of fashion, art and photography, Katie plans to move to New York City after graduation to pursue a communications career in a creative field.
Philip Perricelli, Vice President
Philip is a junior Integrated Marketing Communications major with a Legal Studies minor. He is also a Leadership Scholar and a Special Events Manager with Campus Center and Event Services at Ithaca College. This past summer Philip worked as a production intern for MKG – Experiential Marketing where he worked on a nationwide brand activation tour for Peloton and a Nike women’s product launch. Last semester he studied abroad in London so he’s excited to bring what he learned abroad and from the summer to this school year!
Jessie Walker, Director of Digital Media
Jessie is a senior Integrated Marketing Communications major with a minor in Environmental Studies. This past summer, she interned at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts as a PR intern and at the Manayunk Development Corporation as a Marketing and Events intern. Outside of PRSSA, Jessie volunteers her time to a Sea Turtle Recovery center and an Earth Education Camp in West Virginia. During her free time, she enjoys cuddling with her dog, Scooby, scrolling through Pinterest, and traveling to new and exciting places.
Jessica Caruso, Director of Communications
Jessica is a senior Integrated Marketing Communications major from Long Island. This past summer she interned for The POP Bag, a small experiential advertising agency based in New York City and worked with food and beverage companies. Outside of PRSSA, she is a member of the Recreational Sports Department marketing team and serves specifically as Social Media Manager and Communications Director for Ithaca College Sport Clubs. She is also interning with League Collegiate Outfitters for the second year as a Brand Merchandiser and contributes to the growth of the socially responsible apparel company. Jessica also is passionate about health and fitness, cooking, and traveling.
Phoebe Ertel, Director of Events
Phoebe is a junior Integrated Marketing Communications Major from Fairfield, CT. She also has a minor in Graphic Design, as she loves creating graphics. Phoebe is very active on IC’s campus and currently holds the position of Director of Events for PRSSA EBoard. She is also the Creative Director for HiFashion Studios and the Social Media Director for IC Girl Up. In her free time Phoebe loves to work on her blog, spend time in downtown Ithaca, watch dog videos on Facebook, and obsess over every new issue of Vogue Magazine. She also plans to spend her Spring semester in NYC and hopes to obtain an internship in the fashion industry. Phoebe has been a member of PRSSA since her freshman year at IC and is looking forward to learn more about event planning and management while growing as a Director of Events!
Mary Stephenson, Treasurer
Mary is a junior majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications from Scottsville, NY. Outside
of PRSSA, Mary serves as the treasurer for the Catholic Community, plays trumpet in the Campus Band, and is an event planner for Ithaca’s chapter of Students Consulting for Non-profit Organizations (SCNO). This past summer, Mary interned at the General Henry Knox Museum located in Thomaston, Maine where she served as a marketing and public relations intern. Her tasks ranged from managing the museum’s Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts, to writing articles about the museum. When not in the classroom or involved in student organizations, Mary enjoys running, hiking, and participating in intramural sports.
Mariana Camejo, Secretary
Mariana is a Junior Integrated Marketing Communications major, and an International Business minor at Ithaca College. She currently serves as the Secretary on the PRSSA E-board, but is involved in many other extra curriculars on campus such as Club Tennis and the Ithaca College Show Choir. Mariana is also the Crisis Management Manager at Campus Center and Event Services at Ithaca College. This past summer Mariana worked at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York as their Communication’s Assistant. She also has plans to finish her International Business studies in Barcelona next semester.
Faculty Advisor: Arhlene Flowers
Arhlene Flowers, associate professor in Integrated Marketing Communications, has extensive public relations experience on both the agency and corporate sides. Prior to joining Ithaca College in 2006, she held management positions at leading New York City public relations agencies, including Ruder Finn and Hill and Knowlton. She has represented clients on six continents, including a wide range of governments, nonprofits, and public and private companies. She also served as corporate public relations director worldwide at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, based in its Toronto headquarters. She holds a B.A. from New York University and an M.P.S. from the New School. Her research has been published in academic journals and presented at academic conferences. Her book, Global Writing for Public Relations, was published by Routledge in 2016.
